Azerbaijani cinema in Lithuania

Azerbaijani students studying in the Lithuanian Republic held ‘An evening of Azerbaijani cinema’ in Kaunas.
In his introductory speech at the event, Samir Musayev, a student representative of Odlar Yurdu in Lithuania, expressed his gratitude to those attending, which included 50 local and international students and teaching staff.
After his speech our students gave a short presentation on the history of Azerbaijani cinema. And after the presentation, two short films, “Ev” (“Home”) and “Duyun” (“Knot”), which had been shot for international film festivals and had English subtitles, were shown. During the interval the guests had the opportunity to taste traditional Azerbaijani sweets and at the end they were presented with souvenirs that reflected our country’s national designs.
The evening, which was held with the material and organizational support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Lithuanian Republic and Odlar Yurdu, was enjoyed by everyone.
Around 20 students have gone to study in Lithuania since September 2010, under the contract concluded between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Lithuanian Government. Some study in Vilnius, and the remainder in Kaunas.
