Odlar Yurdu Organisation has arranged an exhibition on the topic of ‘Azerbaijan: its past, present and future’ at the prestigious School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Members of the diplomatic corps, the university’s professors/students, and representatives of research centres and other academic institutions attended the opening ceremony of the event, which was held with the support of our Embassy in the United Kingdom. Special displays of data and photographs reflecting the ancient and modern history, culture, fine art and economy of Azerbaijan; showing Armenian aggression against our country; and elaborating the history of Garabagh were installed in the exhibition venue. In addition to this, a special catalogue of the exhibits on display at the exhibition had been compiled. A film about Azerbaijan was shown and then Fakhraddin Gurbanov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United Kingdom made a speech. He spoke about the history, culture, fine art and literature of the country, the nation’s current political policy, and the irreplaceable role of the exhibition in the delivery of the truth about our country to the Western community. Mr Gurbanov then expressed his gratitude to Odlar Yurdu. The exhibition, which will continue for one month, is the first event of this kind to be implemented at such a prestigious higher education institution.
